ABC, Elliott, Deny Talk of Return
- According to Variety, NBC Sports personality Josh Elliott is “in talks” to potentially reportedly return to ABC News, where he worked as a co-anchor for Good Morning America from 2011-14. Both ABC News and Elliott issued statements to Variety denying the report, and rival publication Mediaite reported that there have been no conversations between the sides. (Variety, Mediaite)
ESPN Extends Mowins Deal
- ESPN has reached a multi-year contract extension with college football broadcaster Beth Mowins, the network announced via its company blog Thursday. The news came one day after Mowins was named the play-by-play voice for Oakland Raiders NFL preseason games. (ESPN Front Row)
ESPN Reportedly Close to Deal With Crawford, Connors
- Awful Announcing reported Monday that ESPN is close to contract extensions with SportsCenter anchors Jay Crawford and Kevin Connors. Neither deal had been finalized at the time of the report. Crawford and Connors would be the latest personalities retained by ESPN, which has also announced deals with Suzy Kolber, Trey Wingo, Ryen Russillo and the above mentioned Mowins.
