TNT will no longer be the NBA’s only show in town on Thursday nights. In other news, the UCF/USF college football game has moved to Thanksgiving night, and Fox Sports will bump Mike Francesa‘s radio show to FS2 to clear the way for Colin Cowherd.
TNT, ABC, Will Not Have Timeslot Exclusivity This Season
- TNT has relinquished timeslot exclusivity for its Thursday night NBA games, ESPN.com noted Wednesday, allowing the league more flexibility to provide players rest throughout the season. The network’s weekly doubleheaders will compete with up to four other games on the night, as opposed to just one — or none — in previous years. ABC’s new Saturday night windows will also lack timeslot exclusivity, facing a busy slate of games in most weeks. (ESPN.com)
UCF/USF Moves to Thanksgiving Night
- The Orlando Sentinel reported Wednesday that the UCF/USF college football game will move from the day after Thanksgiving to Thanksgiving night, though nothing has yet been made official. It would air on ESPN directly opposite Texas Tech/Texas on Fox Sports 1. According to the report, the game would likely have had an early afternoon kickoff had it remained on its original date.
