A stirring battle between heated rivals gave NBC one of its highest overnight ratings ever for Sunday Night Football.
The Colts’ comeback victory over the Patriots drew a 15.1/24 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, up 22% from Giants/Eagles during Week 10 last year (12.4/20), and up 6% from last week’s Cowboys/Eagles game (14.3/23).
The 15.1 overnight is the second-highest of the season for Sunday Night Football, behind only Giants/Cowboys in Week 2 (16.5). Additionally, the 15.1 is tied with another Patriots/Colts matchup as the fourth-highest overnight for an NFL telecast on NBC since the network resumed airing games in ’06.
This season alone, NBC has drawn 3 of the 8 highest Sunday Night Football overnights.
Sunday’s game drew a 39.0/53 in Indianapolis and a 35.4/54 in Boston. The game also drew a 25.6/34 in New Orleans, where the Saints — like the Colts — are undefeated.
