The presence of the Cowboys was not enough to lift viewership for the NFL on FOX last weekend.
The Week 3 NFL singleheader window, featuring Falcons/Cowboys in 46% of markets, drew 18.3 million viewers on FOX last Sunday — down 11% from coverage featuring 49ers/Cardinals last year (20.6M) and down 12% from coverage featuring Packers/Bengals in 2013 (20.9M). The rating was not available.
Sunday’s telecast ranks as the least-watched Week 3 singleheader since 2008 (14.0M). It was the second Week 3 telecast to hit a multi-year low, joining the national window on CBS — the least-watched since 2009.
The singleheader was also just the sixth NFL telecast of the young season to have a decline in viewership (20 total).
