Turner Sports broadcaster Craig Sager is headed back to the sidelines.
Sager will be the sideline reporter for TNT’s Pelicans/Warriors NBA Opening Night telecast October 27, Turner Sports announced Friday. It will be his first assignment since a Thunder/Bulls game in March, and just his second since being diagnosed with leukemia in April of 2014.
The announcement came just over a week after Sager was “medically cleared” to return home from treatment. In an interview with Houston NBC affiliate KPRC last month, he said doctors told him chances were “good” he would be back for opening night.
One of the best known sideline reporters in the industry, Sager is entering his 24th season working NBA games for Turner Sports.
