Early afternoon SEC action scored cable’s top college football overnight of the week.
The Mississippi/Auburn college football game had a 2.6 overnight rating on ESPN Saturday afternoon, up 18% from Texas/Kansas State last year (2.2). The 2.6 was the top college football overnight of the week on cable, and third-highest regardless of network.
Mississippi’s win also scored the top Noon ET overnight of the season on ESPN.
ESPN also posted increases for Oklahoma State/Texas Tech later in the afternoon (1.8) and the late night Stanford/Washington State game (1.6) — up 50% and 33%, respectively, from last year’s comparable West Virginia/Oklahoma State and Arizona State/Washington matchups, which each had a 1.2.
Michigan/Minnesota scored a 2.3 overnight in primetime; year-over-year comparisons were not available. The game ranked second for the week on cable.
