CBS drew strong numbers for both games of Sunday’s NFL doubleheader.
The Chargers/Cowboys national game drew a 16.5/31 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, down 3% from a 17.0/31 for last year’s Week 14 national window (mostly Cowboys/Steelers, FOX), and down 13% from an 18.9/35 for last week’s national window (mostly Cowboys/Giants, FOX).
Despite the declines, the 16.5 overnight is tied as the fourth-highest overnight of the season for an NFL telecast.
Additionally, the 16.5 is the highest overnight for an NFL telecast on CBS since 2007.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Bengals/Vikings drew a hefty 12.6/26 overnight — up 8% from an 11.7/26 for the comparable window last year (mostly Eagles/Giants, FOX), and up 20% from a 10.5/21 last week (mostly Eagles/Falcons, FOX).
Through Week 14, CBS is averaging an 11.8/24 overnight rating for NFL coverage, up 4% from an 11.4/23 through the same point last year.
