The Pac-12 Championship rebounded from its last appearance on ESPN.
The Stanford/USC Pac-12 Championship Game drew a 2.0 overnight rating on ESPN, down 52% from Oregon/Arizona on FOX last year (4.2) but up 82% from Stanford/Arizona State on ESPN in 2013 (1.1). The 2.0 ranks fourth out of the five Pac-12 title games (dating back to 2011).
The Cardinal’s win ranked last among the Power 5 conference championships, trailing the SEC (8.3), Big Ten (5.9) and ACC (4.6) — the latter two head-to-head. It could only match the American Athletic Championship, which had the benefit of airing on ABC in a less competitive timeslot.
Earlier in the day, ESPN drew a 2.8 overnight for Texas/Baylor. Overnights for last year’s comparable Houston/Cincinnati game were not available.
