The NBA Playoffs kicked off on Saturday, and the ratings were less than spectacular.
Heat/Bulls on ABC drew a 2.8 rating, up only slightly from a 2.7 rating for Wizards/Cavs last year. As I predicted, the game was outdrawn by the Yankees/Red Sox tilt on FOX, which drew a 3.6 rating. Credit ESPN for promoting Yankees/Red Sox far more than the network promoted the NBA Playoffs over the weekend. Some charity; ESPN willfully and repeatedly helped a competitor beat a program it was televising.
Lakers/Suns on ABC drew a 3.9 overnight rating, down from a 4.0 for the exact same game last year.
