The first Wild Card Saturday game on CBS was a strong draw in the metered markets.
The Steelers/Bengals NFL Wild Card Game earned a 19.2 overnight rating on CBS Saturday night, up 11% from Ravens/Steelers last year (17.3) but down 6% from Saints/Eagles in 2013 (20.5), both of which aired on NBC. Overnights peaked at a 21.7 from 11:30-12 PM ET.
The 19.2 overnight is the fifth-highest for the Saturday night Wild Card window (dates back to 2002), behind Cowboys/Eagles in 2010 (19.6), Saints/Eagles in ’13, Jets/Colts in 2011 (20.8) and Lions/Saints in 2012 (19.3).
Compared to previous Wild Card games on CBS, Steelers/Bengals increased 4% from Bengals/Colts last year (18.5) and dropped 5% from Chargers/Bengals in 2014 (20.3). Those games aired in the early Sunday window.
