FOX scored the highest overnight rating of Wild Card weekend, but was the only network to have a year-over-year decline.
The Packers/Washington NFL Wild Card Game drew a 23.6 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, down 6% from Lions/Cowboys last year (25.0), down 15% from 49ers/Packers in 2014 (27.7), and the lowest overnight for the late Sunday Wild Card window in six years — since Packers/Cardinals in 2010 (21.8).
Despite the low, the 23.6 still ranks as the sixth-highest for any NFL Wild Card Game since 1999. The eight highest Wild Card overnights over that span have taken place in the past seven years, seven in the late Sunday window.
As goes without saying, the Packers’ win was the top game of Wild Card weekend — though also the only game to have a decline. Chiefs/Texans (+23%), Steelers/Bengals (+11%) and Seahawks/Vikings (+25%) each increased by double-digits.
