On a down weekend for the Elite Eight, Syracuse/Virginia was the weakest draw.
Syracuse/Virginia in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight scored a 4.9 overnight rating on TBS Sunday night, down 36% from Michigan State/Louisville last year (7.6) and down 25% from Connecticut/Michigan State in 2014 (6.5), both of which aired on CBS in the afternoon.
Compared to Michigan/Florida in 2013, the last time the Elite Eight took place on Easter Sunday, overnights dropped 21% from a 6.2.
The 4.9 overnight is the lowest for the early Sunday Elite Eight window since at least 1998, falling below the previous mark of 5.0 for Oklahoma/Syracuse in 2003. The late Sunday window also had its lowest overnight since at least ’98.
The 4.9 is also the second-lowest for an Elite Eight game on TBS (six telecasts), ahead of Florida/Dayton in 2014 (4.6).
