Overnight (metered market) ratings by timeslot:
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM Sunday.
3.2/6: NBA Playoffs on ABC, Bulls at Heat Game 4
1.4/4: NBA Countdown on ABC
1.2/3: Poker on NBC
0.8/2: Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series on CBS
0.6/1: American Le Mans Series: Lone Star Grand Prix on CBS
- Despite (or because of) the compelling storyline of the defending NBA champions losing in a sweep, Bulls/Heat falls 6% from the comparable Game 4 last year, which featured the same two teams.
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday.
5.1/12: NASCAR on FOX, Aaron’s 499
4.3/10: NBA Playoffs on ABC, Suns at Lakers Game 4
1.6/4: PGA Tour on CBS, EDS Byron Nelson Championship, Final Round
1.3/3: Stanley Cup Playoffs on NBC, Sabres/Rangers Game 3
- Suns/Lakers fell 16% from last year’s comparable game featuring the same two teams. That game ended in overtime on a game-winning shot by Kobe Bryant. So far, all four NBA Playoff games on ABC have shown year-to-date declines. One (very) slight good sign for ABC: the Suns/Lakers game was 21% higher than the record low set for Heat/Nets Game 4 on the comparable Sunday in 2005.
- Despite a double overtime finish, Sabres/Rangers only drew a paltry 1.3 rating, down 13% from an NHL Playoff game on the comparable date a year ago.
Saturday ratings.
4.1*: NFL Draft on ESPN
3.3/8: MLB on FOX, Red Sox/Yankees
2.1/5: NASCAR on ABC, Busch Series, Aaron’s 312
1.1/3: PGA Tour on CBS, EDS Byron Nelson Championship, Third Round
1.0/2: Stanley Cup Playoffs on NBC, Sharks/Red Wings Game 2
0.9/2: NASCAR Countdown on ABC
- FOX and ESPN would love to see the Yankees and Red Sox play every week for the rest of time. The 3.3 overnight is once again higher than the overnight for an NBA Playoff game (Bulls/Heat) — and this time, FOX did not need ESPN’s help.
- The Busch Series race on ABC draws the same rating it drew last year on FOX.
* NFL Draft rating is coverage area rating.
