The famed TNT NBA studio team is headed to the booth.
Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will call the March 25 Heat/Bulls game for TNT, marking the first time the studio trio has called a game since 76ers/Hawks on TBS in ’01.
With Johnson, Barkley and Smith in Chicago, Matt Winer will anchor TNT’s studio coverage, alongside Chris Webber and Kevin McHale.
Johnson, Barkley and Smith each have experience in the broadcast booth. In December, Johnson called a Cavaliers/Hawks game for NBA TV, alongside Kevin McHale and Chris Webber. In 2007, Barkley called a Lakers/Kings game for TNT, alongside Marv Albert. Additionally, Smith once served as an analyst for Knicks games on MSG Network.
This will be the third NBA game the studio trio has called together. In addition to the aforementioned ’01 76ers/Hawks game, Ernie, Kenny and Charles also called a Pacers/Raptors game from Toronto that same year.
