- The NCAA outlined what a “96-team [NCAA Tournament] bracket would look like” in a meeting with Big 12 officials on Wednesday. Under the 96-team format, the first three rounds of the tournament would take place over the course of six days, from Tuesday to Sunday. Some sites would feature games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, while others would feature games on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. (cbssports.com)
- NBC will not air NHL playoff action on Saturday, May 15, the day of the 2010 Preakness Stakes. In past years, the network has aired NHL coverage prior to the Preakness — including in 2007, when the overtime finish of Senators/Sabres Game 5 was preempted by prerace coverage.
