ESPN2 set a viewership record for Saturday’s Premier League match between Manchester United and Chelsea.
Chelsea’s victory over Man U drew a 0.4 U.S. rating and 526,000 viewers on ESPN2 Saturday morning, the most-viewed EPL match ever in the United States.
The previous record was set by Liverpool/Aston Villa in August (398,000 viewers).
For perspective, ESPN2’s first MLS telecast of the season drew 285,000 viewers. Last season, only two regular season MLS telecasts on ESPN2 drew more viewers than the 526,000 for Man U/Chelsea.
