With Tiger Woods out of contention — and not even completing the tournament — overnight ratings declined for The Players Championship.
Final round coverage of The Players Championship drew a 3.3 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 20% from last year (4.1), down 3% from 2008 (3.4) and down 11% from 2007 (3.7).
The 3.3 overnight is the lowest for final round coverage of the event since ’06 (3.1).
For perspective, final round coverage drew a 5.3 overnight as recently as 2002, and rain delayed coverage of the final round drew a 5.7 in ’01.
