Though even with last year, overnight ratings were less than impressive for Sunday’s NASCAR race on FOX.
The Autism Speaks 400 drew a 3.6/9 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, even with last year (3.6) and down 14% from 2008 (4.2). Excluding rained out races, this marks the lowest overnight for the race since it moved to FOX in ’07.
Sunday’s race was trounced by Celtics/Magic on ABC (5.5), but finished well ahead of Blackhawks/Sharks on NBC (1.7).
Though sub-4.0 overnight ratings have become the norm for Saturday night races on FOX, they are still very rare for races on Sunday afternoons.
For the season, NASCAR on FOX is averaging a 4.4/9 overnight rating, down 4% from last year (4.6/9).
