Delayed 90 minutes and not particularly close, Ohio State/Oklahoma still put up good numbers on FOX.
Saturday’s Ohio State/Oklahoma college football game earned a 3.8 overnight rating on FOX, up 124% from California/Texas last year (1.7), up 81% from Texas/UCLA in 2014 (2.1) and the third-highest overnight for a regular season game on the network (excluding conference championships).
The Buckeyes’ blowout win, which was pushed back from 7:30 PM ET to 9 PM due to weather, trails only Notre Dame/Stanford last year (4.7) and Michigan State/Oregon in 2014 (4.0) among regular season games on FOX. Keep in mind FOX did not begin airing regular season coverage until 2012.
For the weekend, Buckeyes/Sooners trailed Alabama/Mississippi on CBS (5.4) and Florida State/Louisville on ABC (4.5). With that said, it did top its primetime competition, Michigan State/Notre Dame on NBC (3.2) and USC/Stanford on ABC (2.1).
