Thursday Night Football debuted with solid if unspectacular numbers on NBC.
The Week 11 Saints/Panthers Thursday Night Football game had a 9.3 overnight rating on NBC and NFL Network, up 102% from Titans/Jaguars on NFL Network alone last year (4.6) and up 63% from Bills/Dolphins on NFL Network and local affiliates in 2014 (5.7).
The 9.3 is the second-lowest TNF overnight on a broadcast network this year, ahead of only Cardinals/49ers in Week 5 (8.8).
As one would expect, the Panthers’ win was NBC’s highest rated Thursday night show in the metered markets since the NFL Kickoff Game (16.5).
New Orleans was the top market with a 40.7 rating, followed by Panthers markets Charlotte (25.7), Greensboro (20.7) and Raleigh-Durham (14.5). Norfolk, VA rounded out the top five with a 13.7.
