Though not exactly a big draw, final round coverage of the PGA Travelers Championship had a slight uptick in ratings on CBS.
CBS drew a 1.7 final rating and 2.356 million viewers for final round coverage of the Travelers Championship on Sunday, up 6% in ratings and 5% in viewership from last year. The 1.7 rating is tied as the highest for the tournament since 2005 (2.2).
Meanwhile, third round coverage on Saturday drew a 0.8 rating and 1.217 million viewers, down 27% and 16%, respectively, from last year (1.1, 1.456 mil).
The 0.8 rating is in a four-way tie as the lowest of the season for a PGA Tour telecast on broadcast.
Including The Masters and the U.S. Open, 44 PGA Tour telecasts have averaged a 2.0 rating on CBS and NBC this season. Saturday telecasts have averaged a 1.6 rating, while Sunday telecasts have averaged a 2.4.
Of those 44 telecasts, 33 have drawn less than a 2.0 rating. In particular, 13 of the 21 Sunday telecasts have fallen short of a 2.0.
Ratings/Viewership For PGA Tour on CBS and NBC
NBC drew a 1.6 rating and 2.158 million viewers for Thursday coverage of the U.S. Open, and a 1.7 and 2.236 million for Friday coverage.
