The ratings for the AT&T National mirrored Tiger Woods‘ performance at the event — great in 2009, poor in 2010.
Final round coverage of the AT&T National, where Woods finished in a tie for 46th, drew a 1.8 final rating on CBS last Sunday — down 58% from last year, when Woods won (4.2), up 20% from 2008, when Woods did not play (1.5) and down 31% from 2007, when Woods finished in a tie for sixth (2.6).
This marks the 14th time this season that final round coverage of a PGA Tour event has drawn less than a 2.0 rating on broadcast.
Saturday’s third round action drew a 1.3 final rating, down 44% from last year (2.3), up 18% from 2008 (1.1) and down 35% from 2007 (2.0).
Including majors, CBS and NBC have averaged a 2.0 rating for PGA Tour coverage this season. In particular, final round coverage has averaged a 2.4 rating.
