Game 3 of the 2007 Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz drew a 3.8 overnight rating on ABC Saturday night, tied with Game 4 of the Heat/Wizards second round series in 2005 as the lowest overnight for a primetime NBA Playoff game.
The rating is down 41% from Game 4 of the 2006 Eastern Conference Finals between the Heat and Pistons last year (the only Conference Final game ABC aired that year), which drew a 6.4 overnight rating. That game aired on Memorial Day.
ABC averaged a 3.7 metered-market rating for ten playoff games, down 16% from a 4.4 metered-market rating for ten playoff games last year. Spurs/Suns Game 1 was ABC’s highest overnight of the playoffs, with a 4.5 rating.
