NBC earned one of its smallest Premier League audiences of the season last weekend.
Last Saturday’s Southampton-Bournemouth English Premier League match delivered a 0.5 final rating and 645,000 viewers on NBC, the network’s fourth-smallest audience of the season. NBC aired an encore match in the comparable window last year, earning a 0.4 and 554,000.
Though low for NBC, it was still the weekend’s top Premier League match on any network.
On NBCSN, Arsenal-Manchester City topped the charts with a 0.4 and 631,000 (+125%) Sunday morning, the largest EPL audience on cable since Manchester United-Liverpool in January (881K).
Rounding out the weekend’s action, Chelsea-Crystal Palace had a 0.3 (+26%) and 448,000 Saturday morning (+35%), despite airing directly opposite Manchester United-West Brom on CNBC (151K, -27%). Liverpool-Everton had 287,000 earlier in the morning (-6%) and Swansea-Middlesbrough 256,000 the following day.
Shifting to the midweek slate, Chelsea-Manchester City had 287,000 on Wednesday and Manchester United-Everton 219,000 on Tuesday. There were no comparable windows last year.
