The latest edition of Saturday Night Football put up strong numbers on ABC.
Regional college football action featuring Texas/Texas Tech drew a 4.7 final rating and 7.528 million viewers on ABC Saturday night, up 15% in ratings and 13% in viewership from Texas Tech/Texas last year (4.1, 6.673 mil), but down 34% and 37%, respectively, from Ohio State/USC in 2008 (7.0, 11.939 mil).
The telecast drew over three million more viewers than ESPN’s Saturday night Clemson/Auburn game (4.248 mil). Clemson/Auburn featured the usual ABC A-team of Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit and was the site of ESPN’s College Gameday.
Saturday Night Football ranked as the 20th most-viewed primetime program of the week on broadcast. Among adults 18-49, the telecast drew a 2.5 rating, #15 for the week.
Final ratings/viewership for Saturday’s other college football telecast on ABC were not immediately available.
