Monday Night Football drew its lowest overnight rating of the season by far, but still managed to top the American League Championship Series head-to-head.
Monday’s Titans/Jaguars game drew a 7.2 overnight rating on ESPN, the lowest of the season for any NFL telecast on any network. The 7.2 overnight marks a 25% decline from Broncos/Chargers in Week 6 last year (9.6).
Despite the decline, Monday Night Football topped Game 3 of the Rangers/Yankees ALCS on TBS by 11% (7.2 to 6.5).
On the comparable night last year, MNF topped Game 4 of the Dodgers/Phillies NLCS on TBS by a much-larger 118% (9.6 to 4.4).
Though beaten by Monday Night Football, Monday’s Rangers/Yankees game still drew impressive numbers. The 6.5 overnight marks a 76% increase from last year’s NLCS Game 3 on TBS (LAD/PHI: 3.7), which aired on a Sunday night.
