The last USMNT match before the Gold Cup put up solid numbers. In other news, postponed NASCAR Xfinity Series racing put up low numbers on CNBC, and the BIG3 had a big drop in week two.
Solid Numbers For Latest USMNT Match
- Last Saturday’s United States-Ghana men’s soccer friendly scored a 0.4 final rating and 748,000 viewers on ESPN, ranking third of eight USMNT matches on English-language TV this year. The team’s matches against Mexico (2.3M) and Trinidad & Tobago (797K) did better. The U.S. win narrowly trailed the following day’s Confederations Cup final on Fox Sports 1 (0.5, 800K)
829K For Postponed Xfinity Series at Daytona
- Postponed a day due to rain, NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Daytona pulled a 0.5 final rating and 829,000 viewers on CNBC last Saturday afternoon. As one would expect given the postponement, it was the least-watched race of the season. Last year’s race, which was run as scheduled on a Friday night on NBCSN, had 1.4 million viewers.
Big Drop For Week Two of BIG3
- Tape-delayed coverage of the BIG3 basketball league earned 234,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 Monday, down 41% from the premiere telecast one week earlier (398K). It topped each of the day’s NBA Summer League games on NBA TV, which topped out at 211,000 for Celtics-76ers.
