Overnight ratings for the NCAA Tournament Selection Show tied a sixteen-year low on CBS Sunday evening.
The 2011 NCAA Tournament Selection Show, featuring the CBS debuts of Turner Sports NBA analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, drew a 4.4 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, down 8% from both last year and 2009 (4.8).
This year’s Selection Show is tied with 2008 as the lowest rated in the metered markets since at least 1994 (overnights prior to 1995 were not available).
For some perspective, the Selection Show drew a 5.7 overnight as recently as 2005. The show earned at least a 5.0 overnight each year from 1996 to 2005.
