Overnight (metered-market) ratings by timeslot:
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM Sunday.
1.1: Senior British Open on ABC, Final round
0.9/2: Tour de France on CBS
0.8/2: World Series of Video Games on CBS
- Ratings for the Tour de France fell 31% from last year; that the final stage could only tie the Arena Bowl is telling of the status of cycling in America.
- The Senior British Open could not avoid the same falling ratings that plagued last week’s British Open; ratings fell 15% from the final round last year.
3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday.
4.1: NASCAR on ESPN, Allstate 400 at the Brickyard
1.7/4: PGA Tour on NBC, Canadian Open, Final round
0.9: ArenaBowl on ABC, Sabercats v. Destroyers
0.6/1: Tennis on NBC, Indianapolis Tennis Championships, Final
0.5/1: Championship Off Road Racing on NBC
- ESPN drew solid numbers in its return to NASCAR; the 4.1 overnight is down 15% from a 4.8 overnight for the same race last year, though that can be accounted for by the fact that the 2006 edition aired on broadcast (NBC).
- Ratings for the Arena Bowl were even with last year; last year’s championship was the lowest rated since at least 1998.
- The final round of the Canadian Open was down 15% from the PGA Tour event on the comparable date last year.
Saturday ratings.
