Isiah Thomas is moving to the play-by-play chair for TNT’s Players Only coverage; Ricky Craven has found a landing spot; Russell Wilson and Von Miller will work Super Bowl pregame coverage.
Thomas to work play-by-play for “Players Only”
Turner Sports NBA analyst Isiah Thomas has been named one of the play-by-play voices for TNT’s NBA Players Only broadcasts, replacing Brent Barry. Thomas joins the returning Greg Anthony as the play-by-play voices for the series, which begins its third season Tuesday night.
Thomas has not been part of an NBA game broadcast since he served as NBC’s lead NBA analyst for the 1997-98 season.
New to Players Only this year are recently retired NBA G Jason Terry and Fox Sports’ Jim Jackson. [Turner Sports PR]
Craven lands at Fox
Former ESPN NASCAR analyst Ricky Craven has joined Fox Sports as a studio analyst, it was announced Tuesday, less than one week after he made public his departure from ESPN. Craven will appear on weekend editions of NASCAR Race Hub, as well as on NASCAR practice and qualifying shows.
Craven is the second former ESPN NASCAR personality to join Fox Sports this offseason. As previously reported, Fox announced last week that it has hired Bob Pockrass as a NASCAR insider. [Fox Sports PR 1.29]
Wilson, Miller, to appear on Super Bowl pregame
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Denver Broncos LB Von Miller will serve as guest analysts on Sunday’s Super Bowl pregame show on CBS, the network announced Tuesday. In addition, former Jets QB Joe Namath will also make an appearance on the pregame show. [CBS Sports PR]
