Overnight ratings for the Coca-Cola 600 matched last year’s multi-year low.
FOX earned a 4.0 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte on Sunday, even with last year’s race (4.0), and down 9% from 2008 (4.4). The 2009 race was postponed to Memorial Day due to rain.
The 4.0 overnight is tied with last year as the lowest for the race since FOX began televising it in 2001.
The Coca-Cola 600 was outdrawn on Sunday by IndyCar’s Indianapolis 500 (4.3), though the NASCAR race is likely to come out ahead when the final numbers are released.
As recently as 2005, the Coca-Cola 600 drew a 5.1 overnight.
