Last week’s college football slate was good to the ESPN family of networks. ESPN, ESPN Classic and ABC all saw strong performances from games.
- ABC saw decent numbers from Saturday Night Football, which featured USC versus Nebraska. The game drew 7.4 million viewers, and helped ABC win Saturday night. The 49-31 USC victory also helped ABC to its highest Saturday ratings of the year among “adults 18-34 (2.3 rating), adults 18-49 (2.6 rating) and adults 25-54 (3.0 rating)“
- ESPN drew a strong 3.0 cable rating for West Virginia/Maryland last Thursday. The game was seen in 2.9 million homes, with 3.6 million viewers. The 3.0 was an increase of 20% over the same match-up during the comparable week last year.
- ESPN Classic drew its highest rating ever, on the strength of Louisville/Kentucky. The network drew a 0.8 rating, including a 1.8 rating during the final thirty minutes of the telecast. Needless to say, those are fairly huge ratings for that network.
