It was previously reported in this space that the game drew a 2.9 national rating; the 2.9 was instead the coverage area (cable) rating.
- ESPN and Major League Baseball have resolved a dispute over the network’s promotion of playoff games on TBS and FOX. While ESPN, per company policy, will not air any commercials promoting baseball playoff games on other networks, reports on the LDS and LCS will include references to the channels on which games are airing.
- The sexual harassment suit against New York Knicks’ head coach Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden has drawn considerable attention in the national media since Thomas and MSG were found liable. The plaintiff in the case, Anucha Browne Sanders, appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today Show, and the case was “featured in the news cycle of CNN, Fox News and MSNBC this morning, with CNN and Fox News having their legal analysts discussing the verdict.” Yesterday, all three evening network newscasts also reported on the suit.
