ESPN hit a near-record for Sunday’s United States/Brazil Women’s World Cup match.
Coverage of the Women’s World Cup quarterfinal between the United States and Brazil earned a 2.6 overnight rating on ESPN Sunday afternoon, the network’s second-highest Women’s World Cup rating ever in the metered markets.
The only Women’s World Cup match to earn stronger numbers was the United States/Brazil semifinal in 1999 (3.2).
For some perspective, the match finished just a tick behind Saturday’s NASCAR Quaker State 400 on TNT (2.7).
