Once again, NASCAR ratings fell on ABC.
The Subway 500 on ABC averaged a 3.3 overnight rating Sunday, down 6% from a 3.5 rating for the same race last year. The 3.3 overnight is tied with the Dodge Dealers 400 on 9/23 as the second-lowest rated NASCAR race on broadcast this year.
So far, the four lowest overnight ratings for NASCAR on broadcast television since 2004 have come on ABC. Through seven races, NASCAR on ABC is averaging a 3.5 metered market rating. To put that in perspective, NBC averaged a 4.1* metered market rating for eleven NASCAR races last year, and FOX averaged a 4.9^ metered market rating for eleven NASCAR races earlier this season.
