ESPN hit a thirteen-year high in viewership for Wednesday’s dramatic conclusion to the Major League Baseball season.
The Red Sox’ season-ending loss to the Orioles earned a 1.4 U.S. rating and 2.117 million viewers on ESPN Wednesday night, the most-viewed Wednesday regular season game on the network since 1998 (STL/HOU: 2.675M).
The ESPN telecast of the game was blacked out in Boston and Baltimore.
Later in the night, ESPN earned a 2.4 and 3.841 million for the nine-minute conclusion of the Rays’ win over the Yankees.
Over on ESPN2, the Braves’ season-ending loss to the Phillies drew a 0.8 and 1.184 million viewers.
