UCL Final, Season Wrap
May 30, 2026 · CBS

Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final, won by Paris-Saint Germain over Arsenal, averaged 3.09 million viewers on CBS — up 51% from last year (PSG-Inter Milan: 2.04M) — and the largest audience on record for a club soccer match of any kind on English-language television.

PSG’s win, which peaked with 3.93 million, surpassed the previous English-language high for a UCL final — 2.76 million for Real Madrid-Liverpool on CBS in 2022.

Note that changes in Nielsen methodology skew comparisons to past years, particularly those prior to 2020, when the company began including out-of-home viewing in its estimates for the first time.

The full UCL season on CBS averaged 1.71 million viewers, up 39% from last year.

UEFA Champions League Final
May 31, 2025 · CBS

Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan averaged 2.04 million viewers on CBS, down 12% from Real Madrid-Borussia Dortmund last year (2.32M) and the least-watched final on a Nielsen-measured English-language network since 2019 — when coverage aired on TNT and averaged 1.51 million.

PSG’s historic blowout still ranks seventh among UCL finals on English-language television, with five of those coming since the event began airing on CBS in 2021. (Keep in mind that period coincides with the addition of out-of-home viewing to Nielsen’s viewership estimates.)
