Sunday’s England-Spain UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final averaged 1.4 million viewers on FOX, up 53% from the 2022 final on ESPN, the only other final to have aired on Nielsen-rated television (England-Germany: 885K*).

Outside of the final, the most-watched match of the tournament was the Germany-France quarterfinal on July 19 with 925,000 viewers, followed by the England-Italy semifinal on July 22 (793K) and the Spain-Germany semifinal the following day (782K).

The quarterfinals and semifinals averaged 776,000 and 788,000 respectively, both up nearly threefold from 2022 (283K and 285K).

The full tournament averaged 458,000, nearly double 2022 (233K), when most matches aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU (if they were Nielsen rated at all).

* ESPN reported 971,000 for the 2022 final.

The group stage of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 averaged 306,000 viewers across FOX, FS1 and FS2, up 90% from an average of 161,000 in 2022, when coverage primarily aired on ESPN2 and ESPNU (if it was Nielsen-rated at all).

Friday’s Spain-Italy match averaged 568,000, with Saturday’s Sweden-Germany at 486,000.

Saturday’s France-England UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 match averaged 690,000 viewers on FOX, topping all-but-one match during the 2022 tournament on the ESPN networks. (The final averaged 971,000.) Keep in mind none of the 2022 matches aired on broadcast television and only two aired on the ESPN flagship network.

The first ten group stage matches averaged 359,000 viewers, more-than-double the 2022 figure, when matches primarily aired on ESPN2, ESPNU or were not Nielsen-rated.

The first day of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 averaged 354,000 on the FOX broadcast network last Wednesday. While that is more-than-double the 2022 group stage average (161K), it should be noted that all-but-one of the group stage matches that year aired on ESPN2 or ESPNU (if they were Nielsen rated at all).

FOX topped Week 2 of the NFL preseason with a 2.6 rating and 4.90 million viewers for a Sunday night Seahawks-Titans game August 23, down from the network’s lone preseason game last year, a higher-profile pairing of the Bears and Bills in the same Sunday night window (5.1M). Read more
The Brewers-Braves MLB Little League Classic averaged 2.02 million viewers on ESPN a week ago Sunday, marking the most-watched MLB telecast on the ESPN networks this season. Perhaps not coincidentally, it was also the only Sunday night game on ESPN this season, after the network gave up its “Sunday Night Baseball” package in the offseason. Read more
