- Dick Vermeil suffered from laryngitis last night’s Dallas/Atlanta tilt and had to leave in the second quarter. Marshall Faulk and then later Deion Sanders picked up the slack with Bryant Gumbel.
- Brent Musburger and Bob Davie will call the Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl between BYU and Oregon for ESPN; Craig James will be the third analyst and Lisa Salters will work the sidelines.
- Brad Nessler, Paul Maguire and Bob Griese will work the Capital One Bowl on ABC, one of only two bowl games the network will televise.
- Mike Emrick and Ed Olczyk will call the Penguins/Flyers game for NBC on January 13; the Bruins/Rangers game, despite being in the large markets of New York and Boston, will not be NBC’s featured game.
