- Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption are being bumped for the entire week by NASCAR Now, which will air from 5:00 to 6:00 on ESPN and from 6:30 to 7:00 on ESPN2.
- FOX News correspondent Tiki Barber will sign with NBC, where he will join the ever-expanding Today Show. Barber will also contribute to NBC NFL coverage.
- The NBA has added AutoTrader.com as a new partner; interestingly, AutoTrader.com will only buy time on games airing on TNT.
- The 2006 NBA All Star Game will be the first NBA game televised in 3-D high definition; the game is the first sporting event of any kind televised in 3-D HD, and “the only people who’ll be able to watch the programming in 3-D on Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. ET will be guests of the league at two theaters set up at Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Hotel.” Looks like David Stern’s idea of “sensor[s], the weight of a penny and sewn into uniforms, [transmitting] broadcast quality images wirelessly” isn’t too far off.
