- The NBA All Star Game set a record low, while NBA All Star Saturday Night set a record high; the Saturday night event “delivered the most households (3,464,000) in its entire 22-year history of being carried by Turner Broadcasting networks.“
- The NBA All Star Game, TNT NBA Tip-Off and NBA All Star Saturday Night were the “top three programs for the week among adults 18-49, adults 25-54, persons 2+ and households.“
- NASCAR still led the way on broadcast last week, but ratings were down. On the cable side, the Busch Series race on ESPN2 drew a relatively impressive 2.2 (on a Saturday afternoon, no less; that rating is higher than most cable NBA or MLB regular season games), but that was still down 26% from the same event last year on TNT.
- Dish Network has signed on to sponsor ABC and ESPN NASCAR broadcasts, while the NBA on ABC will get a presenting sponsor for the first time — Hertz.
