- College basketball beat them all on Sunday (with the exception of NASCAR, that is). The #1 and #2 teams in the nation battled, and the ratings were impressive. Buckeyes/Badgers drew a 3.1 overnight on CBS, comparable to overnight numbers for some NBA games on ABC (NBA games on ABC usually outdraw college basketball by approximately a 2 to 1 margin for individual games).
- Without Tiger, golf plummeted on Sunday; NBC’s coverage of the Accenture Match Play Championships drew a paltry 2.1 overnight.
- Bulls/Pistons was up 15 percent from Cavs/Pistons last year, to a 2.3 overnight. Meanwhile, Cavs/Heat will likely end up being outdrawn by Buckeyes/Badgers, which aired in the same timeslot.
- NASCAR was even from last year with a 6.2 overnight rating. As is the case in NASCAR, the final rating is usually higher than the overnight, so there is still a strong possibility that the race will end up with a 7 or higher rating.
