Poker came first, and it was actually a good idea — ratings wise. The World Series of Poker continues to post respectable numbers for ESPN, while poker tournaments continue to draw NHL/AFL type numbers on broadcast teelvision.
Then, came darts. That wasn’t nearly as successful as poker, and came and went quickly on ESPN’s summer schedule.
Now, in that tradition of excellence comes this:
ESPN will air a rock-paper-scissors tournament later this year.
Don’t be surprised to see a “Rock, Paper, Scissors Live” studio show pre-empting PTI and Around the Horn.
