From TVNewser:
- NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and World News with Charles Gibson will both be live from Blacksburg, VA. Both programs will have limited commercial interruption. Katie Couric will anchor the CBS Evening News from Blacksburg.
- ABC News Nightline will be an hour long tonight; the program will be hosted by Terry Moran.
- Katie Couric was not on the air when news of the massacre broke; the CBS special report was anchored by Kelly Wallace. Brian Williams and Charles Gibson were on the air for NBC and ABC, respectively.
- It took MSNBC thirty minutes to begin reporting on the story. CNN was first to report.
- Greta Van Susteren will anchor On the Record from Blacksburg tonight for FOX News Channel.
- Robin Roberts and Chris Cuomo will anchor Good Morning America from Blacksburgh, VA, tomorrow afternoon.
- Dateline NBC will present an hour-long special on the tragedy tonight at 10:00 PM on NBC.
- Anderson Cooper has left Afghanistan and canceled live shows from the war-torn nation to anchor CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 from Blacksburg, VA.
- Harry Smith will host the CBS Early Show tomorrow morning from Blacksburg, VA.
- The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric will be an hour long tonight. One would hope that CBS News did not make that decision as a means of ‘one-upping’ competitors ABC and NBC, both of whom are airing extended, limited commercial editions of their respective evening newscasts.
- Greta Van Susteren will go from 10:00 PM to Midnight on FOX News Channel. Her show will be followed by two straight hours of Geraldo Rivera, from Midnight to 2:00 AM.
- NBC News is calling its coverage “Massacre at Virginia Tech“. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Joe Scarborough will have expanded coverage of the disaster. Allison Stewart will anchor a special at 10:00 PM.
- Larry King was supposed to begin his 50th anniversary programming today; instead, the venerable CNN personality will broadcast live on the massacre.
