ESPN Radio personality and host of NBA Countdown on ABC Dan Patrick is “has been contacted by the producers of the legendary game show ‘The Price Is Right’ and is on the short list of those who’ll be asked to take part in auditions to replace the retired Bob Barker“, according to sources cited by the LA Daily News.
Patrick would not be the first SportsCenter anchor to crossover from sports to more mainstream entertainment. Craig Kilborn was the original host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central, and later went on to host a late night show on CBS. Keith Olbermann is the host of the controversial Countdown with Keith Olbermann, which airs nightly on MSNBC.
Would Patrick be a good fit on The Price is Right? That depends; not everyone is a fan of his “pithy” comments.
