In a stunningly ironic twist, Fox News Channel’s Jane Skinner was the first to report the news of Michael Vick‘s plea deal today. Skinner is the wife of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and left the air soon after announcing the news, as she had “recused herself from reporting on the story.”
In other news reaction to the Vick plea, World News with Charles Gibson had report by Steve Osunsami, which included comments by Atlanta Journal Consitution pundit Terrence Moore and ESPN NFL analyst Chris Mortensen. Mortensen: “Michael Vick had signed a 10 year, 130 million dollar contract three years ago. And when you look at what he’s thrown away — for what? A 150,000 dog operation? — it was tremendous naivete, or it was simply ignorant or evil.”
