There is a reason the networks love Brett Favre.
The Green Bay Packers’ overtime victory over the Denver Broncos on ESPN Monday night drew a 10.5 cable rating with 14 million viewers. The 14 million viewers made the game the the second-most watched event on cable this year, behind High School Musical 2 on The Disney Channel, and ahead of a Cowboys/Bills MNF game in earlier October.
Packers/Broncos marks only the second time this season ratings have improved from last year for Monday Night Football. The only other such occurrence was the aforementioned Cowboys/Bills game.
Through the first seven weeks of the season, ESPN Monday Night Football ratings are down 18%.
