Ratings for the 2007 World Series started mediocre, but finished strong.
After the first three games drew respectable numbers, Game 4 of the short-lived Red Sox/Rockies series gave FOX its largest overnight rating of the postseason. The game, which the Red Sox won to clinch their second title in the past four years, drew a 13.9/21 overnight from 8:30 to 11:00 PM, helping FOX win Sunday night easily.
The 13.9/21 marks a 3% increase over the 13.5 overnight for Game 7 of the Red Sox/Indians ALCS Game 7 last Sunday.
Depending on how high the final rating is for Game 4, the 2007 World Series could avoid being the lowest rated of all-time. While there is no question the series will be one of the lowest rated ever, it should end up several percentage points higher than the 10.1 average rating for the 2006 World Series.
