- FOX: Vikings/Cowboys drew a surprisingly high rating for FOX on Sunday. The 15.9 is the second highest overnight for an NFL game so far this season, behind only last week’s 18.5 rating for Patriots/Cowboys.
- NBC: Sunday Night Football was blown away by Game 7 of the ALCS on FOX. The 9.4 overnight for Steelers/Broncos is the second-lowest of the season, ahead of only the 8.5 overnight for last week’s Saints/Seahawks game. There was no comparable game last year, as NBC took the night off to avoid Game 2 of the World Series.
- CBS: Regional NFL action on CBS fell 12% from last year.
- SEC football continues to give CBS a boost. The 3.6 for Florida/Kentucky on Saturday marks a 33% increase from the comparable Alabama/Tennessee game last year.
- ABC: A slight uptick for college football coverage on ABC Saturday. The 4.2 rating for regional action in the 3:30 PM window is a 5% increase over the 4.0 rating for coverage in the same timeslot last year. The 3.7 average rating for weekend college football coverage on ABC is even with similar coverage in ’06.

- Game 7 of the ALCS was the second highest rated sporting event of the weekend — no small accomplishment when considering the competition from the NFL. The 13.5 overnight rating for the Red Sox victory over Cleveland is the highest for a Major League Baseball game since Game 4 of the 2005 World Series.

- NASCAR ratings keep dropping on ABC. The 3.3 rating for the Subway 500 is off 6% from the 3.5 rating for the same race last year. ABC is averaging a 3.3 metered market rating for five Sunday afternoon NASCAR races, 21% lower than the 4.2 rating for two Saturday night races on the network this year.
