A major concession by the NFL will allow the New England Patriots to play on three different networks on Saturday night.
The Patriots/Giants game on Saturday night, originally scheduled to air only on NFL Network, will be simulcast on CBS and NBC. This will mark the first time in NFL history that a game has been simulcast nationally on three different networks.
This decision comes on the heels of Senator John Kerry (D – MA) threatening Senate hearings unless the NFL made Patriots/Giants available on NBC.
CBS and NBC will air the NFL Network feed of the game, meaning neither network will produce its own telecast. Amazingly, in Boston and New York, Patriots/Giants will air on three broadcast networks at the same time (ABC, CBS and NBC in Boston and CBS, NBC and MyNetworkTV in New York).
